Hurried selfs in passing
- sending a pass to the wrong hand
- sending a self to the wrong end
I deal with passes here. This page deals with the selfs and we will assume that we're using a rhythm which is not a 1-count.
Let's take any passing rhythm and see what we can do with the selfs:
- SSS with the 4-count (PSSS)
- S with the 2-count (PS), or PPS ...
- SS with the 3-count (PSS), and also chocolate bar (PPSS)
- ..
Throws of value 3:
- 3: normal self (crossing single)
- 3x: straight single (RH to RH, or LH to LH).
Examples with a 3-count:
- (3x, -) (3*, -) (- , 3px)
- (3x, -) (3x*, -) (3p*, -)
- (3x, -) (1*, 3x) (- , 3px*)
- (3x, -) (1*, 3) (3p*, -)
Examples with a 4-count:
- (3x, -) (3*, -) (-, 3) (3px, -) : L L R L (crossing pass)
- (3x, -) (3*, -) (-, 3x) (-, 3p*) : L L R R (normal pass)
- (3x, -) (3x*, -) (3*, -) (- , 3p) : L L L D (normal pass)
- (3x, -) (3x*, -) (3x*, -) (3px*, -) : L L L L (crossing pass)
- (3, -) (- , 3x) (-, 3*) (3px, -) : L R R L (crossing pass)
- (3, -) (- , 3x) (-, 3x*) (-, 3p*) : L R R R (normal pass)
- (3x, -) (1*, 3x) (3x* , 1*) (1*, 3p*): the box
- (1, 3*) (1*, 3*) (1*, 3*) (1*, 3p*): shower
Throws of value 4:
- 4: normal straight double
- 4x: crossing double. Now you can do backcrosses in doubles.
Examples with a 4-count:
- (-, 4x) (2, -) (3*, -) (-, 3px) : Crossing double, self, crossing pass
- (-, 4x) (4x, -) (-, 4p) : Crossing double, crossing double, double pass (with backcrosses!)
- (-, 4x) (4x, -) (-, 4x) (- , 3p) : Crossing double, crossing double, crossing double, pass
